This is the third title in the Lone Pine series, and it is the book in which we meet Penny and her cousin Jon Warrender, who live in Rye.
The Gay Dolphin - an hotel left to Jon's mother - is the scene for an exciting adventure connected with smuggling. and 'what they find in her uncle's Family Bible plunges them into a first-class mystery'.
Lucky, just as things are getting a bit hectic, the Morton family arrive to stay in the hotel and help with the adventure.
Mary Cadogan is writing a new introduction for this book, and there will also be a publishing history by John Allsup.
