Margaret Biggs is our only writer of school stories originally published prior to 1960 who is still alive today. Not only did she speak at our conference in Warwick this August, but she has also written a new Melling book, Kate at Melling.

This is set about 12 years after the end of the series, and features Helen's daughter, Kate. We shall be publishing this once we have republished all the existing Melling titles, of which there are seven. So far we have published seven of them and we shall be publishing Kate towards the end of the year - we shall let you know when you can order these titles in due course.

If you have not discovered Melling, now is the time to do so. Melling is a weekly boarding school in Cambridgeshire, run by the gentle Miss Pickering, with two delightful families, the Laceys and the Blakes, providing its 'star' pupils. Because the school is weekly boarding, there is a lovely feeling of home life as well as of school.
