Prefects is Elinor's final Chalet School title.
The contract for it was signed on 17th September 1969, just three days before her death, and it was published posthumously in 1970.
It is doubtful if anyone thought then that the Chalet School series would still be so successful nearly forty years later!
The hardback was never reprinted and there was only one Armada paperback edition, in 1994, so Prefects is one of the most difficult titles to find.
