The Emerald Crown was originally published in 1940 and is the second title in Violet Needham's Stormy Petrel series, following on from The Black Riders.
It is set in Flavonia, the Empire's eastern neighbour, and concerns the restoration of the rightful king and the finding of the lost Emerald Crown, the symbol of both national identity and the true monarchy.
The book has a new introduction by Hilary Clare.
