Mystery at Witchend - cover

We thought that, having published two of the rarest books in the Lone Pine series, we should start at the beginning for those who have not yet discovered Witchend.

So, we are introduced for the first time to the Morton family (David and the twins Richard and Mary), Petronella (Peter to her friends) and Tom Ingles, as they adventure in the Shropshire hill country.

The book will come with a new introduction by Mary Cadogan, a foreword by a family member, and an illustrated publishing history by John Allsup.

Reviews

  • I have now received my copy of the GGB "Mystery at Witchend" from you and want to make the following comments. Congratulations, it is truly wonderful to see this new edition and I for one really appreciate all the hard work and effort that must have gone towards its creation.
  • I love the bringing together of the old into a new format and the layout of the book. Malcolm Saville told me in 1973 that he had been 'distressed by the abridgement of his works' although he realized that the texts needed bringing up to date. My arguement was always 'why'?
  • I know that Mr Saville dedicated MAW to his four children but for me personally I think this new GGB edition should be dedicated to him. Anyway, if you have read so far I thank you, as I'm sure that you are busy, with every best wish.
