Reviews

  • I received my The School at the Chalet book this morning. Absolutely delighted with it, though like many others I am sure, I already have a copy, but glancing through the much loved words I found the wonderful pictures and the information of the time depicted, made this the most treasured copy I am ever likely to have. The complete book captures the essence of the world that once was.
  • Many thanks to you both. I don't doubt I shall be contacting you again.

  • Just had to say that my copy of The School at the Chalet arrived this morning and WOW! Had been umming and erring about ordering a copy as I already have it in hardback (although not a first edition sadly) but can definitely say it's well worth it. Have only had a chance to flip through it but it looks great and the colour photographs and the maps look fascinating. Highly recommended! Well done everyone who contributed articles, photos etc.

  • What a simply sumptuous book the GGB 80th Anniversary Edition of The School At The Chalet is. I love all those colour photos, the information about the Achensee and Austria , photos of the covers of various editions - in fact all the extras included. It's a wonderful book!

  • Absolutely gorgeous.  Really impressed with it.  The photographs and the general layout were smashing.  It really looked terrific.  I wasn't going to order it because I have it already but decided to do so at the last minute and am really thrilled now that I did.  Congratulations!

  • I thoroughly enjoyed the 80th Anniversary edition of The School At The Chalet. I was hesitant about buying it as I already had the hardback but it was well worth the price for the additional information.

  • I would just like to congratulate you on the superb presentation of your edition of The School At The Chalet
  • Your reprints always appear to be a labour of love, but in this case you have surpassed yourselves.  The accompanying articles and photographs enhance the text beautifully, giving invaluable background and touching nuance to the classic story.  The amazing blue of the Achensee is perfectly caught.

  • I am collecting your reprints of the Chalet School series (every one so far!)  and have always been delighted with the books.  I have today received School at and Problem For and I just had to e-mail you to say while I am very pleased with both books   The School At The Chalet is a real "treasure" I have only just had time to have a quick "dip" into the book and cannot wait to explore it in more detail!
  • The books look fantastic on the shelf (no more battered, dog-eared second hand copies!!) and it is so refreshing reading the unabridged books - in a way it is almost like "rediscovering" the Chalet School series.  It has led me to view certain characters in a different light - they seem to have so much more "depth" to them.
  • Looking forward to collecting a full set of unabridged Chalets!! Many thanks for reprinting the books.
