This is a one-volume edition of all the known published short stories and poems by Elinor Brent-Dyer, both Chalet and non-Chalet. EBD wrote a number of short stories and poems, some of which were published in the three Chalet Books for Girls and some of which were published in a variety of other annuals.
Over the last few years, three forgotten pieces of her writing have come to light, and so in case there are more to be found we cannot claim to have included everything!
Included in the book will be a publishing history and the original illustrations for each short story or poem.
The Short Stories has turned out to be a much more splendid book than we had anticipated. It is over 400 pages long (we have *not* increased the price) and has some wonderful illustrations. It contains all her Chalet short stories, all her non Chalet short stories, her Children's poems, articles she wrote for St Helen's Own and The Moretonia (school magazines at two of the schools where she taught) and an article on her war poetry.
