A Brand New, Never-Before published story by Lorna Hill

25 March—email to Clarissa from Lorna Hill’s grandson:

“While clearing a pile of scrap paper, another full length novel from my grandmother has appeared.  The Road To Freedom by Lorna Hill, dated 1978, looks to be complete with 151 typed pages. Would you be interested in having a look at this one, otherwise it will be recycled.”

Clarissa to Ann “Probably another Romance but we had better have a look”

26 March—typescript of novel arrives, Ann has quick look, says thrilling but Clarissa must not read except in the early afternoon. Clarissa reads … and says we absolutely must publish.

28 March—it goes to Helen, our typist, to be typed.

11 April—she emails, “I have made a good start on typing this up – I had intended to take my time but to be honest I am anxious to get to the end of the story to know how the heroine gets on!”
